So the journey begins as I venture into being a TAP "Master Teacher." I am super excited about this opportunity as it is a huge move for me in my career of education. I'm also very nervous about being out of the classroom for the first time working more with adults than students. I can't wait to get started though and feel very blessed to have the opportunity. Hopefully this blog will be useful to all my teachers as well as teachers who may stumble upon this site.

A little about me:
My name is Suzanne Larsen. This is my tenth year teaching. I have taught fourth, second, second grade single gender girls, and third grades. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Lander University. I then received my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix. I am currently in my Dissertation phase of my EdD in Reading and Literacy at Capella University.

I have been married for 16 years to Jonathan Larsen, a former Marine and Army soldier who works for the Lander University Police Department. Jonathan and I have a 14 year old daughter (soon to be 15 in October she keeps reminding us!), Gabby. Gabby is a freshman in high school this year and growing up way too fast! Also part of our family are our animals: 2 Pitbulls, Raider and Benelli, who think they are human, a cat named Scarlett, a Ball Python named Monty, and a Corn Snake named Eliza. Jonathan has taken his love for shooting and gunsmithing from the military and his desire for teaching gun safety and self-defense from raising his little girl and begun a family business: JL Custom Arms, LLC. Check us out! http://www.jlcustomarms.net

The most important thing to know about me is that I LOVE to teach. I love to watch both teachers and students succeed and I love to be a part of that success. I am so excited to be able to embark on this opportunity.
